Chris Bagg

Chris has been involved in education at almost every moment of his adult life, going back to his days as an environmental education teacher on the coast of Maine in the early 2000's. He has taught high school English, coached youth soccer, and run his own coaching business, now CBCG, since 2009. He was a regular top-ten finisher in the professional field at triathlons around the world for about a decade, culminating in a second-finish at his favorite race in the world, the Iron-distance race in Penticton, B.C., in 2014. He’s posted an 8:35 at Challenge Roth, and serves as the director of the Swim Smooth Squad at Nike World Headquarters and Head Coach for Chris Bagg Coaching Group, mentoring the next generation of high-performance coaches.

Chris' fondest hope is that his athletes are not only faster under his tutelage, but happier and more complete human beings, as well. What you get from Chris is a consummate educator, someone who will listen deeply to your goals and race reports, and then work with you to achieve your goals. But the proof is in the pudding: he has guided athletes to age group and professional podia, and led several to shave over an hour off their half- and iron-distance times, in addition to achieving that "general happiness" that is central to his coaching philosophy.
